Microsoft UK Web Site Hacked with Message of Support for RaFa

Siegfried, Zone-H Admin

Last night the defacer Apocalypse broke into the Microsoft UK web site (microsoft.co.uk) and managed to upload a picture with the following message "FREE RAFA - HACK IS NOT A CRIME", it was still online at 10am (see http://www.microsoft.co.uk/Apocalypse.gif).

This defacer has been targeting US institutions and the US government for months. His defacements always contain a message of support for the Venezuelian hacker Rafael Nunez-Aponte who was arrested three months ago in Miami, and is suspected of being part of the "World of Hell" hacking crew.

Other notable defacements of Apocalypse include Stanford University and US Navy web sites (for example: http://www.zone-h.org/en/defacements/mirror/id=2493438/ ), see the complete list here: http://www.zone-h.org/en/defacements/filter/filter_defacer=ApocalypseThis time the break-in was certainly due to a misconfiguration of the web server.
